Trim levels

The Ram 2500 gives Rhode Island buyers a total of seven trims to choose from:

  •   Tradesman: Comes with a gas-powered 6.4-liter HEMI® V8 along with vinyl seats, 18-inch wheels, a Uconnect 3 infotainment system and manual telescopic trailer-tow mirrors.

  • Power Wagon: Comes with a 12-inch digital cluster display, disconnecting sway bars and an electronic locking rear differential.

Performance

The standard engine in the new Ram 2500 is a 6.4-liter V8 that can produce 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. That engine gives Providence drivers a maximum towing capacity of 17,740 pounds and a maximum payload of 4,010 pounds. You can upgrade to a 6.7-liter turbodiesel inline six-cylinder engine with 370 horsepower and a mighty 850 pound-feet of torque. With the turbodiesel, the maximum towing capacity is 20,000 pounds and payload maxes out at 3,150 pounds.

Technology

Ram offers three infotainment displays in the new 2500 starting with a basic 5.0-inch screen and offering an 8.4-inch display with the Power Wagon and higher trim levels. The third option is a vertically-oriented 12.0-inch screen that includes wireless phone connectivity that's offered as an available option on lower trims and part of the package on the Rebel model and higher. Other available tech features include a 360-degree camera, a cargo view camera and a premium Harman Kardon audio system with 17 speakers.

Interior and exterior

Inside the cabin the new Ram 2500 gives Warwick passengers 40.9 inches of front legroom and up to 43.1 inches of rear legroom. It also provides up to 74.7 cubic feet of cargo space in the eight-foot-long bed. Higher trim levels give you genuine leather seating, barn wood interior accents and chrome wheel-to-wheel side steps on the outside.

Safety features

The new Ram 2500 offers an available Safety Group on all trim levels that can give you adaptive cruise control, rain-sensing windshield wipers, blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking and rear cross-traffic alert.
