Thirty years ago, Chrysler defined the minivan market with the Town & Country. Now, at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show, they're doing it again. Meet the 2017 Pacifica, the successor to the Town & Country, and the automaker's first-ever hybrid family hauler. There's a lot to learn about this newcomer, so strap in.

Every conceivable part of the Pacifica is new (save, of course, for the 3.6L Pentastar V6, but even that has some new parts). The platform and architecture, nine-speed automatic transmission, and hybrid powertrain are all firsts in this iteration. But fret not--the Pacifica will still do everything your Town & Country did, albeit in a better and more modern fashion.
