The Dodge Journey provides North Kingstown, RI drivers with a small crossover option that is helpful in a variety of situations. The next-generation edition of the vehicle has been a bit of a mystery so far, but now, the details are starting to come out, and we'd like to share them with you.

We'll get to see a completely revamped Journey in 2016, one that is going to have a new platform, and new building location. First, the crossover is likely to use the CUSW platform that has been the source of many refreshes for new Dodge vehicles recently. It will also probably share the platform with a European-only FIAT model called the Freemont, so maybe a few touches of Italian style will get thrown in there as well.

The other big news is that the Journey is now shifting production north of the border. No, not to Canada, rather the crossover is coming back to the United State at the Sterling Heights, Michigan plant. Previously, the Dodge crossover had been assembled in Mexico, but we're happy to see the Journey will join the likes of the Chrysler 200 at the new facility.

We'll keep you updated with any new developments on the 2016 Dodge Journey on the Paul Bailey's Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram blog, so follow us today.

If you'd like to check out the 2013 edition of the Journey, equipped with either a 2.4-liter inline-four engine or a 283-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 starting at $19,990 MSRP, stop in and see us in our showroom today. Our team would be happy to answer any of your questions, and set up test drives.
